In this seminar, Işıl Baysan Serim - faculty member at Bahçeşehir University, Faculy of Architecture - will discuss how films shape and represent utopian urban imaginations in relation to architecture. We will also examine how films from utopia to dystopia, from technotopia to digitopia, from ecotopia to atopia create mental, spatial and temporal ways of knowing, seeing and acting, and we will also examine the fragility of utopia. In this journey, we will also be thinking about the relationship between cinema, architecture and the city.
