Application Steps
Please read the Terms and Conditions carefully. Download the application files below and fill in the necessary parts. During the preparation process, prepare your documents in accordance with the directions in the Application Kit.
PS: All of the required files must be ready to complete your application.Fill in the Application Form on the right side. For team applications, each team member must fill in the application form and must fill in the Application Format field at the end of the form accordingly.
PS: The fields to be filled by the team representatives are specified.All prepared files should be uploaded to WeTransfer in a ZIP file. And the downloadable link from WeTransfer should be added to the box at the end of the application form.
You should submit your application by July 9th 2023 23:59 (GMT+3); late applications will not be accepted.
PS: You can make the changes you want to make in your applications by sending an e-mail to gemss@thecircle-o.com before June 18th.

Individual participants should have not reached the age of 41 by 31 December 2021; the mean age of the participants applying as a team should not exceed 40.

Architects under the age of 40 who have at least one award-winning, published, exhibited or implemented work as specified in the prerequisites can apply individually or as a team.

It is sufficient if at least one person meets this prerequisite.

You need to submit you Portfolio, CV, Presentation Board, Additional Documents and the Application Form as to complete your application.

You can access the digital Application Form through the Application section in the GEMSS’23 page, by clicking APPLY NOW! button.

Your application should refer to two studies: Presentation Board (1) & Pre-requisite Work (2).
1) Presentation Board: For the Selection Committee Evaluation, applicants are asked to represent a work produced in any of the formats of the prerequisite work that they think best represents their production in the form of a sheet. It is not obligatory that this work on the sheet is the work that meets the prerequisites.
2) Pre-requisite Work: It can be an award-winning, published, exhibited or applied work produced in any of the following formats detailed in the specification; a built structure, architectural project, exhibition design or artistic production, thesis, article, book, publication or translation, an architectural research that contributes to other disciplines, social responsibility project, educational program.
Your work that meets the prerequisite must be included at the top of the portfolio.

In this cycle of GEMSS, applications will be made online. You can access the application form from the GEMSS'23 page and fill it in online.

After you complete your application, if there’s anything you’d like to change, you can make your changes by contacting us at gemss@thecircle-o.com until 18 June.

GEMSS’23’s selection honors the architects, not their works. The applications will be evaluated along with the portfolio and CV. Thus, it is the profile of the architects that are selected, not their works.

The GEMSS organizes prestigious events and publications aimed at increasing the visibility of the architects in the selection, both in Turkey and in the world. The architects in the selection will take part in these organizations spanning 2023 and 2024.

The architects in the selection are expected to take part in all national and international events, exhibitions and publications that will take place in 2023 and 2024.

GEMSS is a selection program that is followed by an exhibition and parallel events. There is no ranking in the selection.
