The main reference that guided the design process of the METU YP auditorium project was the campus within it is locatetd designed in the 60’s. The building aims to reinterpret the spatial and structural characteristic of the campus with a contemporary approach. The auditorium located at the end of the pedestrian “alle” aims to become a meeting point for students. The program of the building is composed by 4 auditoriums with different capacity, 17 classroom and a cafeteria. All these spaces are connected through a large foyer where the circulation system is highlighted with the use of colour.
The auditoriums became the major element that shape the architectural characteristic of the design. The structural system of the building is also very distinctive with important concrete cantilever.
