Varolan sınırları belirsizleştiren, çizginin öteki tarafına sıçrayarak mimarlığını konvansiyonel pratiğinin dışında var etmeye çalışan BARN için tasarım, söz söyleme ve harekete geçme biçimidir. Hareket, eylemlerin tasarımı ile başlar, hafızadaki bilgi ve deneysellikle çarpışır, mekan-insan kesitindeki tüm disiplinleri dahil ederek çok sesli sonuç odaklı üretim ortamı oluşturulur. İnsanı odak noktasına alarak devam eden tasarım-üretim süreci, gerekli dijital araçlar ile hedeflediği mekan ve atmosfer ilişkisini irdeleyerek, aidiyet duygusunu öncül karakter haline getirir.
Eleştirel yaklaşımla, kullanıldığı alan dışında işlevselleşip farklı ihtiyaçlara cevap verebilen malzemelerin potansiyellerine güvenen BARN, ürün tasarımından mimari projelere kadar farklı ölçeklerde güçlü geometri ve formlarla doğal ve yapay çevre ilişkisini inceler. Yıkmadan önce dönüştürme, eklemlenme hallerinin kent belleği için önemini savunan proaktif ekip, inşa etme halinin bittiği yerde tasarlamanın devam etmesi gerektiğine inanır. Tüm bu tasarlama sürecinde geçicilik-kalıcılık kavramları üzerinde yoğunlaşarak mekanların ve onların oluşturduğu kentin sürdürülebilirliğine katkı koymayı amaçlar.
For BARN, which obscures the existing boundaries and tries to create its architecture outside of the conventional practice by jumping on the other side of the line, designing is a way of speaking and going into action. The movement starts with the design of actions, collides with knowledge and experimentation in memory and creates a polyphonic result-oriented environment by including all disciplines in the space-human section. The design to production process continue by taking people on its focal point, makes the sense of belonging a pioneering character by examining the relationship between the space and atmosphere with the relevant digital tools.
Relying on the potential of materials with critical approach to exhibit new functions rather than their intended usage; BARN examines the relationship between the natural and artificial environment with strong geometries and forms at a wide-ranging scale from product design to architectural projects. The proactive team, in defense of urban memory, believes the importance of transformation and articulation before destruction, and that designing should continue even after the construction state ends. Through the design process, BARN aims to contribute to the sustainability of the spaces and the city they create by focusing on the concepts of temporariness and permanence.
2009 yılında TED Zonguldak Koleji Özel Lisesi’nden mezun oldu. Lisans eğitimini İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi Mimarlık Fakültesinde Mimarlık Bölümünde tamamladı. Lisans eğitiminin ardından farklı ölçeklerde mekan ve strüktürlerin uygulama detay çözümlerinin geliştirilmesi, saha şantiye uygulamaları ve yönetimi üzerine bir çok projede yer aldı. 2016 yılından itibaren kurucu ortağı olduğu BARN arch. ile materyallerin kullanım alanlarının ve karakterlerinin yeniden ele alınması , 1/5 detay çözümlerinin bu karakterler ile yeniden yorumlanarak geliştirilmesi üzerine çalışmalar gerçekleştirdi. Ölçek, mekan ve kullanım esaslarına dayanılarak yeniden yorumlanan materyal ve birleşimlerin arşivlenerek aktarılması için çalışmaktadır. Gelenekselleşen üretim ve uygulama metodlarının dışına çıkılarak, bu yöntem ile tekrara dayanmayan devinen yapım süreçleri tasarlamıştır. BARN arch.’ta gerçekleştirdiği projeler ile farklı kategorilerde ulusal ve uluslararası yayınlarda yer almış ve ödüle layık görülmüştür. Mevcut malzeme, detay ve mimari uygulama deneyimlerini 2022 yılında kurulan BASED Landscape ile buluşturarak, canlı-cansız öğelerin farklı ölçeklerde bir araya geliş biçimlerini ve sağladığı iletişimi tekrar ele alan çalışmalarına devam etmektedir.
Ağacan Bahadır graduated from Ted Zonguldak College in 2009.Completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Istanbul Technical University Architecture Faculty. After BSc education worked on various kind of scaled projects and structures specialized in detail solutions , site applications and construction management. As a co-founder of BARN arch. after 2016 he succeed works on reconsidering the usage area of materials according to their characters and also developing 1/5 detail solutions of them with their identities. He is researching about archieving material and connection details which redifened according to scale, space and function parameters to publish them. Also designed non-recurring production proccesses with prefering nontraditional construction methods. His projects in different categories awarded and published in national and international press. He is continuing his reexamination of living and non-living units coalesce in different scaled works with BASED Landscape until 2022 benefitting the knowledge of materails, details and construction.
2008 yılında Kabataş Erkek Lisesi’nden mezun oldu. Lisans eğitimini İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi Mimarlık bölümünde tamamladı. Lisans eğitimi sırasında bir çok müzik festivali ve sanat etkinliklerinde prodüksiyon/saha departmanında görev aldı. Lisans eğitimi sırasında geçici mekanlar ve strüktürler üzerine çalışmaya başlayarak 2016 itibariyle kurucu ortağı olduğu BARN arch.’ta global markalar ile birlikte bir çok projeyi hayata geçirdi. Atmosfer tasarımı ve scenography, zaman-mekan gibi kavramlara deneysel yaklaşımla, farklı ölçekteki mimari projelerinde yer verdi. Kullanıcıların mekan ve atmosfer ile olan iletişim biçimini proje özelinde farklılaştırarak mevcut deneyimlerin sınırlarını değiştirmiştir. Söz söyleme biçimini üretken olma hali ile ifade ederek farklı disiplinler ile bu üretimleri sürdürmektedir. Tasarım sürecinin farklı ölçeklerdeki çıktılarının gözlemlenerek arşivlenmesi üzerine çalışarak, oluşan arşivlerin akademide ders ve söyleşiler ile mimar adaylarına aktarılmasını sağlamaktadır. Ürettiği projeler ile farklı kategorilerde ulusal ve uluslararası yayınlarda yer almış ve ödüle layık görülmüştür. Bu deneyimi ve heyecanı, 2022’de kurulan BASED‘e aktararak, doğa-plastisite ilişkisinde yeni bir söz geliştirerek peyzaj pratiğine devam etmektedir.
Tümer Keser graduated from Kabataş High School in 2008. Completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Istanbul Technical University Architecture Faculty. During his undergraduate education, he worked in the production & field department of many music festivals and art events. He started working on temporary spaces and structures during his undergraduate education, and as of 2016, he realized many projects with global brands at BARN arch., of which he was a founding partner. He included concepts such as atmosphere design and scenography, time-space in his architectural projects of different scales with an experimental approach. Also redifined the borders of existing experiments by differentiating user -space atmosphere communication according to project charachteristics.He specifies the creation of idea term as being productive and sustains this in a multidiciplinary way. He is researching the issue of reporting and archieving proccess of design productions in various scales and sharing his knowladge with architecture students in academic conferences. His multiscaled projects awarded and published in national and international press. Transferring all this experience and excitement to BASED, which was established in 2022, he is developing a new word in the relationship between nature and plasticity in landscape projects.

Babylon Soundgarden 2016 Festivali Red Bull Music Academy sahnesinin, kum zemin üzerine, deniz kıyı çizgisi ile kıyıya paralel uzanan festival ana aksının arasına yerleştirilmesi kararı verildi. Sahnenin tüm kumsala paralel bir şekilde etki alanını arttırmak adına, tek cepheden değil, dört cepheden de iletişim sağlayacak bir hacim olarak kurgulandı. Bu iletişimi kuvvetlendirme düşüncesi ile, sahne planı daire ve türevi formlar ile oluşturulmaya başlandı. Merkez sahne biriminin çevresine konumlandırılan dört kütle ile, mekânsal algının genişlemesi amaçlandı. Bu dört kuleden ikisine bar işlevi verilip, yoğun akstan uzaklaştırılarak, sahneye simetrik kıyı çizgisi hattına konumlandırıldı. Ana aks paraleline konumlanan diğer iki kütle, ses-ışık kulesi ve ücretsiz su dağıtım noktası olarak belirlendi.
Speedy scaffolding’in sağladığı kütle ve hacim varyasyonları ile form çalışmaları çeşitlendirildi. Uygulanan konsollar birimlerin alan hakimiyetini kesit üzerinden arttırdı. Malzeme seçimleri bölgesel veriler ele alınarak değerlendirildi. Festival konseptinin en güçlü yanlarından deniz ve kum etkisinin, yapılarla tetiklenebilmesi için farklı açılarda alüminyum profilli ayna yüzeyler konumlandırıldı, ham jüt materyal ile scaffolding kütlelerin okunurluğu arttırıldı. Işık ve ses sistemi beş yapıya dağıtılarak, sahnenin alana değil alanın sahneye hâkim olduğu total tasarım kararları başarıyla yansıtıldı.
It was decided to locate the Babylon Soundgarden 2016 Festival Red Bull Music Academy stage on a sandy ground, between the sea coastline and the main axis of the festival running parallel to the shore. In order to increase the impact area of the stage parallel to the entire beach, it was designed as a volume that will provide communication from all four fronts, not from a single front. With the idea of strengthening this communication, the stage plan began to be created with circles and similar forms. It was aimed to expand the spatial perception with four masses positioned around the center stage unit. Two of these four towers were given bar functions and were moved away from the busy axis and positioned on the symmetrical shoreline line to the stage. The other two masses, located parallel to the main axis, were designed as a sound-light tower and a free water distribution point.
Form studies have been diversified with the mass and volume variations provided by Speedy scaffolding. The applied consoles increased the area dominance of the units over the section. Material selections were made based on the regional data. In order to trigger the sea and sand effect, one of the strongest aspects of the festival concept, with the structures, mirror surfaces with aluminum profiles were positioned at different angles, and the legibility of the scaffolding masses was increased with raw jute material. By distributing the light and sound system to five buildings, the total design decisions in which the area dominates the stage rather than the stage dominates the area were successfully implemented.

Sahne tasarımı deniz kıyı çizgisi ile kıyıya paralel uzanan festival ana aksının arasına konumlanmaktadır. Bu dört kütleden ikisi bar olarak işlevlendirilerek yoğun akstan uzaklaştırıldı ve sahneye simetrik kıyı çizgisi hattına konumlandırıldı.
Ana aks pareleline konumlanan diğer iki kütle, ses-ışık kulesi ve ücretsiz su dağıtım noktası olarak belirlendi. Işık ve ses sisteminin beş yapıya dağıtılmasıyla, sahnenin alana değil alanın sahneye hakim olduğu total tasarım kararları başarıyla yansıtılmaktadır.

Stage was located between the coast line and the festival main circulation axis running parallel to the shore.In order to increase the impact area of the stage, plan solutions were worked out through circle and derivative forms that could communicate from 4 facades. It was aimed to expand the spatial perception with four masses located on central stage surroundings. Two of them were functionalized as bars, pushed away from the main circulation axis and located on the shore line symmetric to the stage.
The other two masses, located parallel to the main axis, are designed as a sound-light tower and free water supply point. Total design decisions in which the area dominates the stage rather than stage dominates the area were successfully reflected by locating the light and sound system to five towers.
