The Metropolitan: Blasé attitude or the Flâneur
Finding a place in the city and participating in the endless cycle of production consumption can mean throwing yourself into the streets during the "rush hour" for those who live there. The coffee is taken from the coffee shop in the corner, which Marc Auge mentions at length in his book Non-Places, the sidewalk that is walked on every day, the uncanny parking lots and the train platforms waiting at the stations are all parts of this feverish fiction. For the unquestioning urbanite, the order of the world has already been established. Even the anonymous life of which Jacobs speaks manifests itself in such urban spaces.
A Collective Playground Design For Earthquake Survivor Kids
Twenty participants from different fields worked for four days to design and produce play units for earthquake-affected children. The participants took into account the sensitivities of children and adults affected by the earthquake in the workshop where used urban furniture and playground parts were repaired and re-functionalized. The outputs of the workshop, which was an example of inclusive and collective work, were disassembled at the end of the fourth day and set off for Kahramanmaraş. The playground units installed in the field aim to create a space that will put earthquake-affected children at the center of their daily lives. You can examine the aims of the project and the details of the process with the narration of the participants below.
Rethinking on Timber Structures
Wood is an organic-based building material with a fibrous texture obtained from a living organism, the tree. Humanity has been using wood as one of the oldest building materials for shelter and protection since ancient times. Today, the use of wood as a structural element in buildings, especially in cities, has remained quite limited.
One of the biggest psychological barriers to the use of wood as a structural element is the concern about the flammability of wood in case of fire. However, precisely because of these prejudices, in order to rethink wood, in this article we will take a closer look at the structure of wood and consider the perspectives on its use in our country and in the world.

What is Structural Health Monitoring?

Rethinking on “Taking Shelter”
In Old Turkish, shelter is derived from the concepts of "arriving" and "departing". In this sense, for the Central Asian Turks, a nomadic community, the place of shelter is always a place to "arrive". Nevertheless, it refers to the proper organization of the place of arrival, in other words, a settlement that is sheltered and has borders, albeit temporary.
